chicken and peas

a new chick which I made for a commission - this was made using one of my recent bargain ebay purchases of a (now felted) wool jumper.
She was sent on her way to her new home in a little monda printed paper bag:
Don't you just love to eat peas straight from the pods?
I had to take a picture of these empty pea pods (after the peas had been consumed by me) because they just look so green and shiny and lushIt's such a shame you can't really do anything with pea pods - at least I don't think you can do anything with them - unless anyone knows any bizarre recipes for pea pod soup or pea pod jam or something. No? never mind then.

The photo of the chick made me smile.. then I saw the photo of the peas and I smiled even more!
Really like the logo bag. Looks very fun. So glad to see Stevie well (in the carrier bag). I found special dried food for cats with kidney problem called Hills KD. My Wata eats it. Hope you have a good week.

My Mum used to make Peapod wine, I was too young at the time to sample any so can't tell you how good it was, but it looked the part. Might be worth investigating?

Love your bag and that's a very cute birdie!

I remember when I was little, after devouring all the peas I used to chew on the pod - unsurprisingly it tasted just like peas!
You can now buy pea shoots (the leaves) as a salad leaf. Peas are related to mange tout, sugar snap peas, etc, and you all of them so why not with peas? Not that I've tried cooking them - you first by all means!

Those pea pods look so bright and gorgeous! And your little bird is adorable - I wouldn't have thought of searching ebay for wool jumpers to shrink - what a fab idea!

oooh, I spotted you had fancy macaroons from yauatcha. I went there for my tea (dinner tea, not cup of tea) a little while ago. It was rather nice, but had very uncomfy chairs (you know you're getting old when you moan about seating)

I also had a bag of peas (in pods, not frozen) the other day and thought the same thing about the pods, which sparked a conversation about what you can do with the pods (nothing except eat them) and Miss G decided to munch on them, saying 'they're alright but a bit tough, not like mange tout'.
Pea pod wine? I think I'll pass on that....
