This into that

Why is it that you can never sleep in at the weekend, even though you really want to? My body just woke up early this morning and didn't allow me to go back to sleep. So I got up and started reading my new copy of Olive Magazine Olive is a great food magazine - its a mixture of reviews of restaurants/eateries/places to eat out, ideas for eating in and entertaining, topical foodie subjects (this month is about British meat), recipes and ideas, where to buy, and generally quite inspirational mouthwatering photography.
Then checked my emails which let to a spot of indulgent online browsing - clicking links from page to page, site to site - I love doing this because you never know what you're going to find.
Today I came across a site called 'this into that' where the maker creates functional furniture and art from old books and tools. The book/wood shelf with the random hooks is my fave.
Take a look:
I've used the random number generator to pick a few recipients for my card giveaway. The lucky punters are: Jennyflower, Gina and Cat.
Ladies please email me your addresses (you can use the 'contact me' button on my profile page) and I'll pop them in the post for you.

In sewing machine news, the fixer man is coming to diagnose on Wednesday next week. I hope it's nothing too serious. I don't need an excuse to buy a new bernina, but I like my solid old one and would like to think it will work for many more years to come. Fingers crossed.

I love the book bird house!

I also had a problem with my Bernina where it stitched all by itself. It turned out to be the foot control and I had it replaced. Everything seems fine now and my trusty sewing machine remains intact! I hope your problem is not too serious. It is amazing how attached you become to your own sewing machine when you rely on it every day.

The book birdhouse is extraordinarily covetable.

what clever furniture. Love it!

I do hope the bernina is ok, I'm sure she will be - they are supposed to outlast their owners, aren't they?

i know what you mean about not being able to sleep in on the weekend, i'm the same. There is too much to do and once i wake up and start thinking about it i've just got to get on with it.

There are some wicked books made into shelves on that site, what a fab idea.
